The Treasury

Uh oh, Etsy has a new toy! The Treasury. They are always coming out with new features and this is a pretty good one. The Treasury is a place where you can pick 12 items of your choice and show them off. You can create wishlists or just showcase some items that you adore on the site. This is based on the way that the Etsy staff picks the items for the front page. Those 12 spots are much coveted and there is always lots of discussion about who picks the list and who is on it and how many times they have been on it.....So far, I've been up there 5 times which I am proud of because there are hundreds of thousands of products listed on the entire site. Well anyways, this new feature lets you feel like you have the power to pick the front page items - and you kind of do because for the past few days, the Etsy admins have been using the Treasury lists as the featured items! This is awesome for those who have been picked and also the picker, because their shop name is linked right there along with the picks! This means that anyone that has an account on Etsy could possibly pick the front page items - that's a pretty big deal. I have been on a few of these lists too, but none of them have made it to the front page. Here is a screenshot of one that I'm on now - it's all mermaids! The lists expire after 48 hours (and I don't know where the link will take you after the time has elapsed). So, go ahead and pick your list of faves - your selections may end up on the front page one day!
